2020 Farmers Market

We’ve held our JTM Farmer’s Market to raise money for charitable causes for a number of years now. Last year, we raised $2,570 for hurricane relief. This year, we chose the Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ). Its mission? To permanently close the achievement gap and end generational poverty in North Minneapolis, by walking side by side with low-income families as they put their children on a path to college.

We LOVE holding the JTM Farmer’s Market. We bring in all sorts of items, including vegetables from our gardens, knitted or crocheted crafts, baked goods, sourdough bread, postcards with original photography, essential oils, t-shirts, custom illustrations, handmade scarves, paintings, pottery and a variety of home-canned goods – and everything is amazing! Rather than having a set price, “buyers” are asked to donate what they feel the item is worth (or what they want to donate). It’s so much fun.

This year, due to the pandemic, we held our Farmer’s Market in our parking lot. Given that it was limited to one afternoon, we also offered items through a website that our fantastic volunteer committee spun up very quickly and used Venmo for contact-less, cash-less donations.

The result? We raised more than $1,500 for NAZ.
