APPETITE FOR CHANGE

Every month, JTM welcomes a speaker to engage in conversations around food, our industry, or our community for our Thought For Thursday: Foodies series. Last week, we were honored to have LaTasha Powell, Co-Founder and President of @appetiteforchange join us to discuss AFC’s founding and how food can bridge communities.
Through youth and workforce development programs, social enterprises, and policy initiatives in North Minneapolis, Appetite for Change builds community capacity to engage with the food system in a fresh and sustainable way. Their Community Cooks Meal Box pilot program shared 9750 boxes and 117,000 meals with residents experiencing the effects of changing grocery store, market, and employment access in just 30 weeks.
